wins the first “Corporate social responsibility”
award instituted by Animal Pharm - October

Animal Pharm – UK, the world renowned London based publishing house for the animal health industry has now instituted the award “Animal Pharm Industry Excellence Awards”. The inaugural awards were announced on 12th October 2006 in a ceremony held in London. Animal Pharm has conferred on Indian Immunologicals Ltd. (IIL) the award for “Best Corporate Social Responsibility”.

IIL won this award for its remarkable programme “Operation Pratirodh” to make cattle vaccinations affordable and accessible to rural Indian farmers and its outstanding contribution and services to the rural farmers. IIL is the only company outside the developed world companies which won an award this year.
The “Operation Pratirodh” Programme provides scientific information to farmers regarding diseases affecting cattle and prophylactic measures to protect them against the diseases. Through this division, IIL provides vaccination services at the door step of farmers at very economical rates. This division was started not with a profit motive, but to bring immunization closer to the villages and make it sustainable.
The award was received by Shri K.V. Balasubramaniam, Managing Director, IIL at a ceremony held in East Wintergarden Hall in London’s Docklands on 12th October, 2006.
